Elena Brooks is gone. She had many instances of false mental issues, and many of them were caused by something darker than the depths of the mind. The doctors took her mind and everything in it, and replaced it with an AI chip. They REPLACED it. Just like that, the electromagnetic pulses absorbed the memories, thoughts, and ideas. It was all gone, lost to a world of swirling masses, each too far to make out. Elena was taken away, in a process further out and more complicated then the average human mind can even begin to imagine. And it's up to me to get her back. >> Cover credit is not mine. It goes COMPLETELY to the artist. I found the beautiful image on Pinterest. Link to https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.pinterest.ca/amp/pin/337488565798897593/?source=images

It is often written that technology isolates us. Too many opinion pieces blame our screens for the loss of human interaction. Virtual reality is painted as a false experience, ultimately empty of emotional connection. The truth is our gadgets are merely tools. Like hammers or screwdrivers, their value lies in their application. A Dream of Florence, by Marzio Ombra, is the story of how virtual and augmented reality creates intimacy and transforms the endangered dream of an elderly couple into a reality. A Marriott Hotels #TravelBrilliantly Writing Contest entry.

**SUBMISSION FOR MARRIOTT'S TRAVEL BRILLIANTLY CONTEST** All Farrah wanted was a tour of Seattle that incorporated places from her favorite books (Fifty Shades of Grey, After and Twilight). However, her electronic tour guide--Twerp--had other ideas. He was determined to take Farrah on an unforgettable vacation experience. How did he do it? Read this 900+ word story to find out. It's sure to make you smile. (This story is dedicated to my grandma who recently passed away. The Christmas before she died, I bought her an animated parakeet--which she loved. That parakeet is part of the inspiration for this story). The mission of the Travel Brilliantly Contest was to write a 500-1000 word story describing how artificial intelligence could positively change the world of travel.
